My resumé just got betta

It’s hilarious to me that my resumé is being critiqued in a college class but yeah I updated it so here it is, pdf form: KCLEGHORN_resume_blockednumber


She opened the notebook, which had previously remained dauntingly empty, despite the growing percentage of her day spent thinking she ought to write in it. After staring onto the blank first page (found after the cautiously written ‘belongs to’ on the inside cover), she decided that perhaps hand-writing a novel was too Edison. Not Emerson, because that would imply that she spent any sort of time in nature at all, but Edison, because he supposedly failed a thousand times before success. And to be blunt, failure was constantly on her mind.

This stemmed not only from copious reinforcement of life experience, but more recently from the same ritual that occurred a few weeks before, when she had opened up a new document to begin writing. Curious as to her previous forays into penning prizewinning literature, she opened a file curiously titled “Downhill.” Grimacing at her supposed cunning, it was needless to say a disappointment when the only sentence on the page was:

I think things started going downhill when I realized I was having sex to a Portishead album.

Don’t buy this sweater

It’s a truthful generalization to posit that most of us have no problem recalling how much we have paid for our possessions. We have no problem recalling what we have purchased versus what we put on our ‘wish lists’ and receive as gifts. We have no problem identifying a product’s brand or how beautiful an item is perceived.  What perhaps we find difficult to name: an item’s life expectancy. Continue reading

Video: Welcome to Detroit

So I made this advertisement for a marketing class to promote U of M Detroit Center’s new bus, “The Detroit Center Connector,” running between Ann Arbor and Detroit. This is the final 2-minute version of the ad.

We chose to create a campaign for the DCC because we believe in The Detroit Center’s goals of cultural exchange and gaining experiences off-campus.

I’m currently working on a project to redesign a website for an academic-based community website. After working tirelessly to educate myself and keep up with the whole ‘flat design’ thing (regardless of if it is a passing trend, which I believe it’s not), I received feedback about the navigation bar.
